A Cottage Year • 2022-ongoing
By Alinta Krauth and Jason Nelson, connected to the ”Entirely Every Forever” project | Portfolio > Digital art
Project Details
A cottage year is a collection of 52 different digital light projections,
one for every week of the year, and Birsbane’s heritage-listed The Printery Office functions as its canvas.
The work is an artistic flashback to the last years of the Brisbane Commandant’s Cottage in the
early 1850’s and 60’s, before it was demolished and replaced with The Printery Office.
By using historical documents of the area's climate, weather and other environmental data
the projections work as a portal to the Cottages past and its surrounding area.
The work is a permanent installation, projected onto The Printery Office’s
northern face, and was commissioned as part of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane
multi-million-dollar public art project.
