This work shared space with the ”Cryptext” project | Portfolio > Art-games
Project Details
Nomencluster, a digital poetry art-game, was built for one of the world’s largest, most advanced touch screen
spaces, located at QUT’s The Cube (four 40ft sides, over 40 touch screens, towering over two stories).
The work was featured on Australian television and children’s shows. The works process involved significant
user-testing and research into how to create effective electronic literature for such a giant interactive
space, including readers who may be standing up close, and those standing further away.
The work was made possible by a $125,000 grant from the Australia Council of the Arts and the
Queensland University of Technology.
In Nomencluster, players are tasked with creating literature with
their hands before a timer counts down and changes the image.
